BEST extra-curricular activities

Find out how toddlers spend theirtime inthe Butterfly 3 kindergarten

In addition to the implementation of the core curriculum, we take care of the full development of our little charges. We want the child to develop to the fullest, which is why we offer two types of additional activities:

Basic classes

In which we believe that every child should participate. These activities are held at such times as to allow children staying until lunch to participate.

Optional activities

Parents choose them based on their child's interests and strengths. These activities take place after lunch. Require children to be left in the nursery for the whole day.

In order to take care of the little ones, all extra-curricular activities at the kindergarten are conducted by qualified instructors, trainers and educators, who are carefully selected based on their experience and skills in working with children. It is not necessary to enroll children in extra-curricular activities, but interests are worth developing from an early age. Extra-curricular activities help our kids develop and discover their passions and talents.

The most important goal of the extra classes is to ascertain in which area children particularly need development and in which they feel most comfortable. So, each class deals with slightly different skills. Of course, our kid doesn’t have to participate in all classes, except for social skills training, as this one is needed for all children. However, it is not an extra paid activity. We encourage the child to try all the extra classes and eventually choose one or two together with the parent.

The youngest group of children in our kindergarten is not directed to extra classes, because just being in an institution among other children is a big novelty for them. So they have a year to get used to this mode. They start attending extra classes at the age of four.

Extra-curricular activities allow you to address your child’s needs from every angle. For example, art allows you to see if there is an artistic soul in the child. Judo, on the other hand, is more a matter of focusing on kinesthetics, and therefore motor activity, but more in the direction of independent, realization. In acrobatics, on the other hand, competition does not appear. It’s part of overall development. In the case of soccer, teamwork takes place, as well as agility and leadership skills. Robotics, on the other hand, is all about developing logical thinking and concentration on mental tasks.

Acrobatics

It develops dexterity in children, but also helps them function better in space. Through a variety of exercises, children learn to control their bodies, which translates into a sense of balance and the ability to move in different environments. Acrobatics in kindergarten is an excellent tool that allows our little ones to discover their own, unique, abilities.
Acrobatics for preschoolers is also a great way to improve flexibility and muscle strength. During the class, toddlers learn to perform all sorts of stunts, starting with the easiest ones and progressively more advanced exercises. This not only develops their physical abilities, but also allows them to develop a positive attitude towards effort and challenges.

Plastic

Art classes at Butterfly 3 preschool are fascinating sensory experiences, crucial for the preschool age group. By creating the “new” we encourage children to use their natural creativity and desire to play with the world. Through visual arts, toddlers have the chance to use their senses to creatively explore a variety of art materials. During art classes for preschoolers, children learn to create smaller and larger works of art, which develops their imagination as well as their manual skills and sense of agency.
During art classes, the need for imitation is engaged, affecting observational skills. At the same time, the need to focus on one’s work and to execute it from start to finish teaches children to concentrate, crucial in this day and age. Creating their own works of art gives children a sense of agency and builds their own self-worth, and the uniqueness of the works promotes a sense of uniqueness.

Robotics

Robotics classes for preschool children promote logical thinking and problem-solving skills. These are the so-called skills of the future, which will allow the child to gain competencies that he or she will use for years to come. Technology is changing at a dizzying pace, in order to tame it now and in the future, logic is essential.
During robotics classes in kindergarten, children learn to program simple robots and automation, solve logic puzzles. Children have the opportunity to experiment with different tools, discovering the principles of engineering. These classes develop creativity, analytical skills and the ability to break down complex problems into smaller and simpler ones to solve. Working to solve a problem helps build concentration skills, and the satisfaction of solving a problem builds a sense of agency and self-esteem.

Social skills training (TUS)

Another skill of the future is the ability to communicate and find oneself in social situations. This training is crucial for building leadership competence. Interpersonal communication skills are extremely difficult to develop in today’s computerized world. During these activities, children learn to build relationships with their peers, communicate their needs and emotions, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
TUS at the kindergarten includes a variety of games and exercises that develop empathy, the ability to listen to others and assertiveness. Children also learn to recognize and deal with their emotions and make decisions. Social skills training for children is not only an excellent preparation for life in society, but also an essential tool for future success.

Additional activities in kindergarten -FAQ

Additional activities in kindergarten are there to determine in what direction the child will develop and what is interesting for him. This is a good time in a child’s life to calmly look at it and think about it.

The purpose of extra-curricular activities is not so much to make the child an “expert” in a particular field, but rather to explore in what direction the child wants to develop. With this knowledge, parents can assess what the next activities in his life might be most beneficial and interesting for him.

Yes, a child can participate in all extra-curricular activities. However, at the Butterfly3 preschool, we encourage the child to check out all the activities and then, together with the parents, choose one or two to participate in, simply to have time to be a child.

Yes, of course. Just apply for a change of classes a month in advance, and from the next month your child will already be able to participate in other additional activities.

The purpose of extra-curricular activities is not only to develop the child’s skills, but above all to discover in which area the child feels most comfortable and to determine the direction of the child’s development. In contrast, we develop the child’s most important skills in our standard classes.

Your child's development

How to chooseadditionalactivitiesin thekindergarten Butterfly 3?

As part of the basic program, we take care of the harmonious development of each child. The purpose of extra-curricular activities for preschoolers is to discover and support the uniqueness of your child. However, when enrolling in extra-curricular activities at the kindergarten, it is worth being prudent and not getting swayed by the plethora of choices. In addition to extracurricular activities, the child should also have time to play independently and simply be a child. It is certainly worth trying all the activities to be able to find “that something”.

At the same time, it is worth keeping the focus on several activities to also teach the child to make informed choices. The child should take an active role in deciding which activities he prefers to stay with and which he wants to give up. Here it is also worth remembering that the beginnings are always more difficult, and it is worth encouraging the child to approach each type of task consistently, so that the beginner is not discouraged by the first failures.

Butterfly 3 Preschool is the perfect place for any child who wants to discover and develop their passions, learn new skills and enjoy being a child. We invite parents and children to join our preschool community, where developing becomes a real pleasure.
