Adaptation in the kindergarten Motylek 3 Warsaw Ochota (Szczęśliwice)

adaptation activities in the kindergarten

Get your little one ready for a great new adventure

and enroll your child in an adaptation class. This is a great time to get to know the teacher, new friends and the place where the little one will spend the next few years. In most cases, our child doesn’t need help in learning, only that he doesn’t need to be disturbed. One of the most common obstacles in children is stress. If a child feels safe, he is very eager to learn on his own.

Adapting in kindergarten is one of the most stressful things for a child, especially when it’s the first time a child is ever in kindergarten – new surroundings and children can make a child feel insecure. That’s why at Motylek3 kind ergarten we do everything to make the adaptation go as smoothly as possible.

If the child is 2 years old, adaptation begins as early as March or April of the school year still in progress – the child may appear in the kindergarten on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday evening, for example. On the other hand, if the child is to join the kindergarten now, adaptation takes place every day. The teacher checks how the child reacts to the group, the caregiver and whether a bond is being formed.

At the beginning of the adaptation process, the parent is in the room with the child. This is a good time for the parent to ask all relevant questions. Depending on how the child responds to the adaptation, we sometimes extend the child’s stay. Sometimes the parent goes outside the room, then leaves the nursery itself, and the child stays with us all day.

Parents of foreign-language children often worry that their child may not do well in kindergarten. These doubts are natural, but in most cases, there is no reason for concern. In the early stages of life, children often do not yet think in words, but rather in pictures. Language, while obviously important, is not crucial then. Children learn languages quickly, so it is enough that the toddler is not stressed and feels taken care of by his parents, and his adaptation will be successful.

WHAT SETS US APART

Adaptation classes in kindergarten - why us?

We combine a happy childhood with personal development. The family atmosphere in the kindergarten helps children to adapt and make new friends. We trust that the social skills we emphasize at Butterfly 3 will bear fruit throughout life in these wonderful future adults.

Who our preschool IS for:

We are a kindergarten with traditional values and strive to support the child's development in a harmonious way. We trust that in our institution we are sticking a vessel into which knowledge from elementary, high school or college will later be poured. All the further life of your little one will depend on how we improve our potty. Any rupture or imperfection in the preschool education process has a huge impact on further development, so we want to have full involvement of parents in the education process of their child. I believe that a child is such a curious creature that he or she does not need encouragement to learn... all it takes is to remove barriers to development, provide opportunities to learn and a safe atmosphere, and the toddler will flourish and embark on the adventure of exploring the world.

Who our kindergarten is NOT for:

We are not a "storage facility" for children, where a child is left to keep his parents from interfering with his adult life. We care about the correct development of the child, and here cooperation with parents is very important. Hence, we cannot afford to have parents who are not involved in children's development among our clients.

We are also not an inclusive preschool, so we target only well-functioning children. We want to make sure that every person who comes to us has an excellent development, so we need to specialize. Our specialty is the harmonious development of well-functioning children.

Kindergarten adaptation - what makes us different?

Professional staff

We entrust the care of children to professional preschool educators and psychologists. At the same time, we make sure that the Aunties have their hearts on the right side: they love and respect children.

Two foreign languages

English every day, and Spanish twice a week from the age of 4. This approach makes excellent use of the child's potential and receptivity to foreign languages.

Small groups

We usually have up to 15 children in groups. The teacher, together with the assistant, have time to notice the needs of each child in the group on an ongoing basis and actively support their development.

Healthy cooking

We serve children five varied meals with high nutritional value. Breakfast and afternoon snacks are prepared on site, and delicious home-cooked lunches are provided by a catering company.

Rich program

As part of the tuition each week the child has classes: 2x rhythmics, corrective gymnastics, group speech therapist, psychological care, 5x English, 2x Spanish (from the age of 4).

Two playgrounds

The kindergarten has two playgrounds of its own, on one we play sports on the other we play. A swimming pool and inflatable slide are laid out in the summer.

BUTTERFLY 3 REPLIES

Adaptation of a child in kindergarten - FAQ

Adaptation is a process that is particularly important for children who have so far been raised at home. The child becomes familiar with the concept of a kindergarten, that is, a place where there are other children and “aunties” who care for them. Adaptation helps determine whether the child feels comfortable in our kindergarten. We encourage parents not to have their child participate in adaptations in several kindergartens at the same time, as she may then feel lost and stressed.

The length of adaptation in our kindergarten depends on the child and how they enter the group. The shortest adaptation in Motylek3 lasted two days, while the longest lasted almost three months . So the parent should be prepared for this and be patient, because then the parent does not leave the child in the kindergarten, but stays in the facility with him. If the child is to join the kindergarten during the school year, adaptation can take place at any time. If, on the other hand, the child’s consolation is to join the kindergarten in the next school year, then adaptation begins more or less from March/April.

You can make an appointment for a conversation about your child’s adaptation in the kindergarten through our website butterfly3.pl. We will then send a questionnaire to the parent regarding their child. This will help us better understand the child and properly prepare for this adaptation. When we receive the completed questionnaire, we send it to the teacher, who has one working day to review it. Then, based on it and our schedule, the teacher suggests when to invite the child for adaptation. For example, if the child is more closed-minded, we will not invite him on the day we have theater, so as not to overwhelm him.

If the child has had an unpleasant experience with the kindergarten before, we can introduce the new institution to the child in a different way, such as a children’s club. This is because it is good for the child not to be stressed about the kindergarten even before his first day. Let’s also make sure that the child is sleepy and that we have prepared appropriate clothes for him the previous day. Let the child eat a nutritious standard meal in the morning. It is also a good idea to introduce the child to kindergarten as the next stage in his life. Let’s not simply say “you are going to kindergarten”, but rather “now you can go to kindergarten, because you are already big”.

A child can go to kindergarten at the age of 2.5 years, and start taking part in adaptation classes when he is 2 years old.
